SCC MEETING MOMENTS

August 7th, 2010GF Pancake Breakfast

Solano County Celiacs hosted a GF pancake breakfast and enjoyed a presentation by guest speaker Kimberly Lenz from The Missing Menu.

We're excited for her upcoming site launch of www.themissingmenu.com. Her website will feature a comprehensive list of restaurants throughout the United States that provide not only their allergen listings, but an uploaded menu of their GF offerings.

Group members enjoyed Gluten-Free Bisquick pancakes, Hormel Natural Choice bacon, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and Udi's multigrain toasted bread. Mmm delish!

April 24th, 2010 - "I'm Gluten-Free and I'm Still Having Problems: Warning Signs of Unstable Blood Sugar" by guest speaker Sheila Wagner PT, CN

Sheila gave an outstanding presentation about the ongoing troubles we may experience even after going gluten-free. A balanced diet seemed to be key in avoiding blood sugar issues. She provided an overview of symptoms to look out for that may indicate unstable blood sugar. There was also a brief discussion involving Diabetes and Celiac Disease and how insulin plays a roll. For more information regarding this topic, please visit Sheila Wagner PT, CN's website at http://sheilawagner.com/
